Bangalore Silk Kalamkari Dupatta Blue Figurative Design 7
A red figurative panel enclosed by a scalloped arch stands out against the turquoise-blue field of this Pen Kalamkari Bangalore silk dupatta. Cream edging and layered yellow, blue and red outlines give the composition a strongly defined frame.
Figures gathered beneath a scalloped canopy
Crowned figures in blue, green and dark grey turn towards a central figure dressed in orange, with arms extended towards one another. Their jewellery, patterned garments and expressive gestures fill the red panel. Small white and blue marks punctuate the spaces between them, while fish motifs appear in the adjoining pale-blue strip.
The artwork is hand-drawn and hand-painted on Bangalore silk. A narrow floral band and multicoloured pendant-shaped details decorate the end. Drape this dupatta across a plain cream kurta with the red panel open to show the gathering and its scalloped surround.
